I really enjoyed reading this book. Most books aim at taking you away from the mundanity of modern life and into the fantastic worlds within. This book makes this a whole lot easier by having the central character do just that.
The "hero" of the story is a lawyer who after the death of his wife, discovers a Magic Kingdom for sale (ebay would just love that I'd bet) and thinking it fake, buys it so he can stiff the seller. Except it really is a magic kingdom. One that is in dire need of someone to rule it.
So this and the others in the series chart his successes and failures as a king in training.
