Whilst at the pub last night I heard our beloved Chairwoman mumbling
something about the Xmas dinner being cancelled. Can anyone confirm or
deny this ?
If so why ? (or should that be why not?)

We just seem to be having incredible difficulty finding somewhere which
isn't booked up, does do steaks, does accept such large groups, doesn't
charge through the roof, isn't miles away, etc etc etc etc.
Several options were suggested. One of them was McDonald's, one of them
was the Ascot, one of them was having a "new year's" dinner or something
next term, instead of a christmas one.
