Did anyone else see Peter Davison on V Graham Norton last night? It was
quite funny, they had one of those battery powered talking dalek toys which
they tried to make go down some stairs.

Did anyone else see Peter Davison on V Graham Norton last night?
No, but I did watch "The Last Detective" - series of 4 ended last week
sadly, but was really quite good.
It was interesting in part because he played much the same sort of role he
did in "A Very Peculiar Practice", and with at least two of the same actors.
On the one hand he's plainly been typecast, and on the other hand, he's
lovely at it.
Wonder if AVPP will come out on DVD.....

I've noticed that a few of the Doctors seem to have been typecast as
voiceover artists, or Rent-a-nice-voice.
Peter Davison does the nice voice of HSBC
Paul McGann is the nice voice of Lloyds TSB
Tom Baker is the nice voice of almost everything else on the planet.
I suspect however that Colin Baker would be the Shouty Voice.
Shouty?
Shouty??
SHOUTY!?!?!
Maybe he should be doing those bl00dy awful Ronseal ads. "RONSEAL WOODGRAIN,
GRAINS WOOD, DOES EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN AND P1553S YOU OFF AT THE
SAME TIME!!!"

In ep1 there was the chap who played Bob Buzzard (the yuppie doctor in the
suit) as a policeman.
In ep4 there was the woman who played his foreign girlfriend in series 2 as
a Swiss businesswoman.

Yay!
Got S1 on video somewhere.
I've got bits, but not quite a complete set.
Hmmm.
This is odd.
imdb.com has an entry for "A very Polish practice" in 1992. Wonder what that
is? It's got all the same actors in it. Clues point to it being a reunion TV
movie. Damn. Missed it.

David "son of Patrick" Troughton.
There's a 3rd generation of the Troughton family making a name for himself now -
James is playing for Warwickshire and should get an England cap before the year
is out.

Yup, fraid so. Wasn't nearly as good. I think that's in the loft somewhere as
well, need to pop up there sometime and see if I can track down my copy of
Hyperland.

Yes, and one of his other grandson's, Harry Melling, appears in the Harry
Potter films as Harry Potter's vile cousin, Dudley Dursley.

Hmm... Wonder which is the bigger number:
The number of people who'll tape it off the TV given the chance
or
The number of people who'll go "hey - that was quite good, I'd like to buy
it".
There probably aren't that many nutters sitting around waiting to tape the
thing for posterity.
Those that might (like me) are still likely to wait for the DVD (like me).
