write their own stories, for publishing on the web. We could write plot
synopses/guides/reviews for our favourite books/films etc and have a master
catalogue on the site.

could add it, and anyone asking for recommendations could also read the
reviews. We could have complete strangers reviewing books and making
recommendations, as well as all of us. That to me sounds cool, as noone
seems to borrow the books at least partly because noone knows what to read.
