If you're offering people
IFIS e-mail addresses, what about their own
IFIS home page? Sorry if this has already been asked but I managed to
delete half my inbox without reading it first!!!

If you're offering people

IFIS home page?
But what would you put on it?
Sexist jokes and pictures of your cat?
If you have something meaningful and Science-Fiction related to publish, I'm
sure both the Magazine editor, and the Webmaster will be more than pleased to
give you space.
I can't see Nick offering free webspace to people for any old thing though.
Same goes for GameSoc.

[Idly wonders if the typical RHUL cat picture involves roast pototoes,
carrots and peas?]

Interesting point Dominic. Should we try and make
ifis.org.uk a useful site
for SF so that we attract people from all over the Web. There are some SF
resources on the net but they are extremely tedious, or just episode guides.
Should we (as a collective whole) try for something bigger and better than
anyone else. Assuming we get the time for it. Rune with a View is available
as scanned images but we could HTML'ize it properly. Members could try and
write their own stories, for publishing on the web. We could write plot
synopses/guides/reviews for our favourite books/films etc and have a master
catalogue on the site.
I am sure other people can come up with better ideas than me.

I may possibly offer a web redirection service later. What I'm *NOT*
offering is storage space. What you may have noticed is that if you
wanted an
IFIS email address, I was NOT storing your mail for you,
just forwarding it to whatever your "real" email address happens to be
at the time. I could do something similar with web pages - you find
your own SPACE somewhere (you could always get a page at
www.geocities.com if nowhere else) and then I get
www.ifis.org.uk/~yourname to forward to it.
I'll think about it, and let you know when I've worked something out.

Well, I've tried about five times to get a page there and
they've never mailed me to tell me how to put stuff on it!
