Virus update
Looks like the virus that's been pestering the IFIS lists is called
"Klez", or more likely one of the Klez variants. More info can be found at

You'll probably find that even if you've not received the virus itself,
you've probably received a few warnings saying you're not allowed to
post it to IFIS lists and/or that you sent it to someone whether you did
or not. Basically Klez collects as many email addresses it can from your
address book and from loads of text/email files on your machine, then it
fakes mail FROM a random address TO a random address, so quite often
it'll look like you're sending the virus yourself, just because your
name has been faked by someone else's infected machine.
You will need REALLY up-to-date antivirus software - probably late march
2002 or even April . These days, it's fairly pointless having anti-virus
software that's more than a week old. Alternatively, use Linux or
another non-microsoft operating system to seriously reduce your chances
of virus infection :-)
I'm still seeing them, so whoever's got it, you're still going online
and you're still sending them.
