Saw a trailer for the above the other night, looked
*very* impressive.

Slightly worried about the accents though. Johnny Depp
seems to be using Desmond Askew's (the English guy in
Go and Roswell High). Not such a bad thing you might
think, accept that Askew sounds like he's doing a
comedy English accent most of the time and he *is*
English.

As for Heather Graham... Every time she finished
speaking I expected James Marsters to appear on screen
and call her 'ducks'. For all the difference it makes
they might as well have cast Juliet Landau, she's
better looking and probably would have cost less too.

According to SFX, apparently the Studio was very keen to get a big name
actress in on the act to play the role, and most of the decent ones were
either too old, too obscure, or too fully booked up. Although Heather Graham
wasn't particularly keen on the idea in the first place, time will tell....

Anyone read From Hell? I have. I thought Fred Abberline was
supposed to be a big tub of lard with a 'tache, not the delectable Depp...

Am a Jack the Ripper fanatic myself. Went on a Ripper
tour with the same guide as Johnny Depp. So, the
question is, is there going to be any historical
accuracy or is full of supernatural. Whatever it is
the movie should be good in a historical or fun
aspect.

Looking forward to seeing it!

p.s. if anyone is interested in reading a bio on
Ripper they can borrow a copy from me. It is written
by that tour guide and is VERY VERY good and has some
pretty gruesome pictures as well!
