Have Money, Will Shop
Well I had a great time today and I'd like to thank everyone who came out for a bit of a
browse round the sci-fi shops.
I don't often go shopping with a hit list but I did today and managed to get most of the
things on it:
Transformers: End of the Road Trade Paperback
Star Wars: Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight Figure
Doctor Who: Dust Breeding CD.
The only thing I couldn't find was the the Star Wars: Rebel Pilots Cinema Scene
Kicked off in Richmond at They Walk Amoung Us. Adam picked up the League of Extraordinary
Gentleman Hardback and was persuaded to indulge in DR & Quinch's Totally Awesome Guide to
Life fulfilling the promise I made there that I'd get at least one person to buy it :-)
I'd been in earlier to pick up my comics (and the TF book) but it didn't stop me laying
more cash down for a Grand Moff Tarken and R2-Q5 (Imperial Black Astromech) on my way out.
Much attention was given to the Harry Potter Lego. We also got the photo for the web
site of the new TWAU shop and got a photo of us at the old premises - which has been used
as the comic shop in Spaced.
After some fun and games with the trains - we got on the wrong train due to some delays at
Twickenham we met at Waterloo and instantly lost a load of people on the trip to Camden.
We did manage to pose for the now traditional IFIS in the Tardis shot in the Jubilee line
tunnels ;-)
Some hardy souls puched on to Murder One, Comics Showcase, and Orc's nest where relatively
minor damage was done. The surprise of the trip however came at Mighty World of Comicana
where having bought nothing before I surrendered most of my wallet on a pile of SW toys
I'd been hunting (I sold a load of my SW a few years back and have been buying back
certain important pieces recently) I managed to haul the aforementioned Luke Jedi there
and also grabbed a Luke Stormtrooper, R5D4, Jawas, Mopmaw Nadon, Tusken Raider, Imperial
Gunner and - most surprisingly - a Tie Fighter Pilot. Asan and Andy caught up with us
there after having gone for Chinese - mental note for next time: leave space for the
Chinese in the schedule. Gosh was it's usual self - thought the back issue bins seem to
have gone since our last vists. Then the usual chaos that is FP - finally found a Black
and Silver Dalek there and got the Dust Breeding CD.
It was then we had the traditional trip to HMV and that was about when I left everyone -
who were expecting the Camden lot at 4 and going on to Pages.
