That whole ship turning/accelerating thingamy:
Yes Whitestars have got some form of artificial gravity, and this
could be used to counteract the forces involved (although seeing some of
the maneouvres, the equipment would need to be providing powerful forces
in rapidly changing directions to compensate). However, the thing that
you seem to be forgetting is that the Starfuries and Thunderbolts (both
Earthforce fighters) do exactly the same thing. With no gravity
generators. And don't tell me that they have inertial dampeners either,
because they don't.
FTL/bending space stuff:
Why are people still attempting to model two-dimensional behaviour
using objects that are free to move in three?.
Dr Who.:
I'm Rassilon, and I defy you to prove otherwise.
Explosions in space:
Rings look very nice and all that, but think of the dramatic effect of
a shock shell of flame spreading out at very high speed, then dispersing
just before it reaches you, to reveal the explosion within. Now that
would look much better.
Musings on the universe:
According to most people there was nothing before the (relatively)big
bang. However there is another theory that states that the big bang has
been happening forever, and that it is only recently (~13 billon years
ago or so) that the universe has expanded enough for galaxies, stars and
us to form. It follow from the argument that Black holes (a lot of
matter (eg a star) crushed to infinite density) will take an infinite
length of time to form. (Something to do with relativity slowing time
down for the black hole, as it gets denser.) All you need to do now is
run the process in reverse, and you have a star that took an infinite
length of time to form. Scale up a few trillion times and you can see
what they are getting at.
That's all for the moment.
