Tony Head at Odyssey last weekend
I thought that
IFIS members might be interested in some comments made by
Tony Head at last weeks Odyssey convention regarding new series and
projects comments, spliced from a couple of sources as I was not there,
hopefully it does not come across too disjointed.
Tony head confirmed the rumour about the Ripper
series, its a definite possibility if BBC comes up with some cash.
Ripper & Charmed (TV): The Times talked with Joss Whedon about the new
Giles-led "Buffy" spinoff, describing it as: "a grown-up, quiet show about a
cool, grown-up, non-teenage man quietly solving ghost stories". Whedon has
been in talks with the BBC about doing six episodes of the series, whilst
several "Buffy" cast members are interested in appearing.
Also he is doing a sitcom with Nigel Havers which he called "a male Sex in
the
City". Giles will appear a lot less next season, four out of the first
twelve eps is what they have worked out so far. Yes, he did sing! The
song on Saturday was sans accompianment as the tech crew hadn't brought a
guitar. For the musically minded amongst you, his pitch is great - he only
lost it
slightly at the end when it was perfectkly forgiveable. He sang the song
he did at last year's Nocturnal about women being smarter than men
On Sunday, he talked about a project he wants to get on in the UK -
Richard
III. Apparently, his drama coach makes him do scenes as a regular
exercise
and it's been suggested that the coach come to the Uk to direct a full
production with Tony. He's also still working on the albumn which will
have a small US only release. James is on it as a guest along with Alyson
H and
Amber B. The song he did on Sunday was with guitar and from the albumn.
I
don't know what it was called but it was about missing family - very
poingnant, even if he did have to keep stopping to remember the chords (it
was the first time he'd performed it in public).
