The very first episode is pretty poor, but it improves beyond recognition as
it progresses.
Where B5 broke new ground in terms of long-term story arcs, Farscape is
blazing a trail across the skies of episodic adventures. There are
occasional advances in long-term plots, with recurring bad-guys, and
surprisingly good character development, but in the main each episode is
self-contained, or at most in three or four parts.
There have been some genuinely great episodes, and some that have left me
desperate for the next week, to find out how things finished. The acting is
reasonable, and the script definitely has it's moments.
"There's good news and bad news. The bad news, is that it looks like you'll
have to marry the princess and spend the next 80 years as a statue. The good
news, is that me and Chianna are having great sex."
So make another effort, and start watching it. If you want, I can probably
summarise the main plot elements for you in an email.
