Ever dreamed of seeing places man was not meant to see?
Would you like to play with translucent cthulhiod beings, and seek out dark
secrets with the aid of space-age technology? Breathing air where no air
exists?
What you want to do is scuba diving!
As a student (or ex-student) of the University of London, you are eligible
to join the University of London Union, and thus the University of London
Sub Aqua Club (ULSAC).
ULSAC is having a couple of open days at the ULU headquarters on Malet St.
near Euston. One is Sunday 15th October, and the other is Wednesday 18th. On
both days there are times when you can actually try it out in the swimming
pool! On Sunday there will be people there to talk to from 11:30am to
10:30pm, with pool dives between 5pm and 7pm. On the Wednesday the pool time
is later, from 7pm to 9pm.
So pack your swimming costume, and go along to find out what's involved. If
you do decide to join though, it will involve a fair amount of training,
mainly on Monday evenings for the rest of the term, and partly into the
next. This is at ULU in London again.
Diving gives you an opportunity to go places, and see things that the man on
the street can't see. ULSAC is definitely the cheapest way you can learn to
do it.
Yes, I realise that the SF content of this email was almost infinitely
small, but compared to some of the stuff that's been posted lately, that's
actually an improvement.
Dominic.
