The first two books in Laurell K. Hamilton's "Anita Blake, Vampire
Hunter" series are now being published in the UK and are available in
the shop. Two more books in the series will be published each month
until all eight are available.

series "Narcissus in Chains" to her publisher, so look for it next year

In the Science Fiction news this week "The Veiled Web" by Catherine
Asaro has tied for first prize in the American National Readers Choice
Award, and has also won the Romance Writers of America's Prism award.
Katherine Kurtz plans to write three more Deryni novels which will form
the "Childe Morgan Trilogy". She and Debora Turner Harris have also
delivered the next Adept novel "The Temple and the Crown".
New in this week is "The Unicorn" by A.L. Lassieur. This is the second
book in the "Legend of Five Rings" series based on the mythic tales of
Japan, China and Korea. Welcome to a world of honourable samurai, mighty
dragons, powerful magic's, cunning ninja, and twisted demons. US
paperback, =A36.99.
Dennis Jones' "The Stone and the Maiden" has also arrived. This first
book in the new "House of the Pandragore" series follows Mandine
Dascaris, heir to the throne of the Ascendancy, as she fights for her
birthright. A delightful epic fantasy. US paperback =A36.99.
Some upcoming October titles to look forward to are "Atom" by Steve
Aylett, the third in his cyberpunk "Beerlight" series, which will be a
UK hard cover for =A39.99. Also "All Tomorrow's Parties" by William
Gibson. This novel by the popular author of "Neuromancer" is set in the
same world as "Virtual Light" and will be available as a US paperback
for =A36.50.
Finally, Phil Andrews suggests reading S.M. Stirling's "Sea of Time"
series about the temporal transportation of the modern day island of
Nantucket back to 1250 BC. He also suggests "Household Gods" by Judith
Tarr and Harry Turtledove. This collaboration by these two popular
authors tells about a modern young professional, Nicole Gunther-Perrin,
who wakes to find herself a widowed tavernkeeper on the Roman frontier
