This and that and B5...

Hi,
Domanic seem to imply that the ending didn't have to imply
that there were new Vorlons and Shadows... despite a barrel of hints
about the big circle, new shepards etc... though out the series and
what else are we to make of the bit at the end where the bloke dons
a Vorlon 3 piece. I think you can be guilty of assuming too much
from what you haven't seem.

As for my point about the time travelling etc. I still find it
hard to imagine that the President of the Universe and leader of
the Rangers is going to spend some time in a Centauri prision or
Londo will be the ruler when his planet is destroyed.

The ending did leave open lot's of questions, such as:
what about the Nimbari, Drak - shame they can't evolve in to super
being as well? Well it just goes to show that you can't beat a good
old (or not so old) home sapien... If Earth ended up with that Shadow
and Vorlon tech at the end of the war where did it all go to?

On a different note, this pales into trival compared to
the mistake in the latest DS9. They have mines which can replicate
themselves - that crashing sound is the first 2 laws of thermodynamic
breaking, shortly followed by all of known physics.

I thought I'd blatantly said it.
Yes.
At the end of this cycle, someone goes on (stays behind?) to shepherd the new
races. Anything from one race, to lots of races. In the last two cycles, we've
had one individual, and then seven (?) races, of which two were more involved
than the others, and had diametrically opposing philosophies.
I think that's a cute twist, but forsaking corporeal form and wearing green
armour doesn't also imply an adoption of vorlon ethics, and an existence of
shadow antagonists. I think they just nicked the idea.

It was hard to imagine a tortured prisoner becoming President of the Universe
in a week too. Easy come, easy go.
And we know damn well that Londo's going to become Emperor, because that's been
prophecied, and time-travel verified. So I think its fair to assume that he'll
still be replaced by Vir (also prophecied) and that there'll be some serious
destruction on his planet.
I think they took most of it with them. And the Draak blew up the shadow
homeworld. Quite well.

I finally cruised round the Lurker's guide to B5, and was, appropriately,
impressed. Doesn't change my story either.

Well, what do you expect from a Star Treck spin-off? Science? sense?
