Dear Technically inclined people,
What is a TMP file and why do I have so many on my F drive? What do I use to
open them?

They're temporary files, hence .TMP. Commonly used by office applications
and left behind when a program crashes and forgots to wipe up all it's junk.
you should be safe to delete them.

ONLY IF THEY'RE OLD!
Check the dates on them. If any of them are fairly recent, they MIGHT still
be being used by the various applications. It's safer to do something like
finding all tmp files, dorting by date, and only nuking ones that are more
than 2 or 3 days old.
