Um actually co-opted is the right word - I refer you to section 4 of the
_Union_aproved_ constitution as displayed at www.ifis.org.uk

For a little bit more clarification, I used the word co-opted to imply
that the committee asks those people to do the job described by the
position. This makes them honorary posts, not union type posts.
I used co-opted because it is in the constitution as my friend Phil
points out below.
