buying books
As there has been no new books bought yet this year, why does not people
start reckomending some books which IFIS could get. Okay, there may not be
many quality books being written, but that does not mean there are none
worth buying!
Certainly, I am reading the Red Mars, Green Mars, Blue Mars series, and
still have the receipts for them. They are excellent, modern SF, and I would
be more than happy to pass them on to IFIS (for cash, I'm afraid).
IFIS has a few Iam M. Banks books, but as they were bought without much
knowledge, I don't think we have a complete series. Could those that know
name all the books in this culture series, as these seem to be fairly well
taken. Opinions are welcome, but again not *everyone* has to like a book for
it to be worth it.
Also, how about the recent stuff that Donaldson has written: can we have a
complete list of the titles, so this Gap series can be bought? Or how about
a list of the latest Anne McCaffrey series?
If the committee feel happy with suggestions, then some new books could then
be got in! I guess it will be next term now, but I am more than happy to
drive down to that excellent bookshop "The Sign Of the Dragon". Or they do
mail books for cost-price.
