Naa. Chat is the right place for it, it's just that some threads seem to
take longer to die.
Sadly, some of us are still struggling to put faces to names. Entirely my
own fault of course, but it does make it difficult to follow what's going
on, if indeed anything at all.
That's fine. People can add to a series if they like.
Hmm. I was under the impression that Mr Herbert traditionally worked by
scrawling notes on envelopes, fag packets, and lavatory walls. Admittedly
this is based on no actual evidence whatsoever, but I believe the gist has
some validity.
It is indeed not the most utterly plausible story ever, but it should become
vaguelly possible to verify. If this series starts getting publicity,
journalists are going to start asking to see the notes, etc.
I'm willing to believe he had loads of unpublished notes, and half-finished
bible thing, it's the secret notes in the safety deposit box that sounds
suspect. I don't object to him publishing his opinion as to the outcome of
the story, or even to him sticking the label "official" on the front of it
(a la Star Wars, Star Trek, and all the hundreds of other spin-off books we
have) it's packaging it as the original author's work that I want to have
verified.
