Hard though it is to break into your merry chat-a-thon, I thought I
would just say that the best way to achieve world domination is not through
a blatant show of force but by being a parasite that attaches itself to the
victims brain stem and takes control of the body. Or some kind of weird
tenticled thing that sucks out all the moisture from someone and creates a
clone. Come on guys, it's an SF/Fantasy staple - there's been episodes of
Buffy, ST:TNG (that was really icky... with the head ... and the melting
...ugh), Dr Who (in a cactus type way), it was even on FARSCAPE for heavens
sake. Not to mention The Faculty and all the films it was taking the piss
out of. I only mention this because I think it would be funny to walk around
and see a load of IFIS members clinging to the backs of other students. Of
course the parasites always have a shared intelligence which in this case I
suppose could be interpreted as this chat system, so to defeat the evil
menace the college would have to destroy the computer network. The we would
all be reduced to bubbling masses of flesh as we slowly melted away.

As for the parasite thing - you forgot the more benevolent B5 example, as
well as several other more technological ones - Robomen from Dalek Invasion
of Earth and the people infected by the Cybervirus in the Moonbase. Or just

Control" ?) ala Mr Garibaldi ?

involved? Does the parasite still retain the memories of its past hosts
before they were joined? If so are they remembered as if they were its

Trills....

There have been several examples of Trill symbionts in more than one body - and
one forthcoming one.

In general the personality is a meld between the Sybiont and the Host (Which is
the name of the TNG EP I was thinking of) See when Riker is hosting the Trill
Ambasador in the host - several of Riker's traits and yet still the Trill.
Several of Dax's previous personalities have been shown - Sisko recognises much
in Jadzia that he remembers from Curzon. Jadzia was shown seperated from Dax
for a while - the 2nd series ep where terrorists take the station one of which
is a Trill - and is diffrent though similar. So yes - I think it does depend
somewhat on the strength of each component of the Trill.

Dax remembers being Curzon etc from before - she regularly recalls along the
lines "I remember when Curzon ..." Whether she has Curzon's memories from before
he was Dax is a good question ....

Do you mean the original trills in ST:NG that are parasites (as they
were discribed by the doctor) and can not
be transported. Or the ones on DS9 that are sort like multiple mind
melds... Trills are a tripe idea that was
never probably worked out - hence all the inconsistancys.

These would be the "Symbiosis" aliens. Hinted at in Coming of age - the

it's a seemless join. He certainly seems to go out of his way to

can I just ask what evidence that you base this evidence on please?
As far as I know, each joined trill pretty much keeps their personality,
although they do become influenced by the past experiences of the symbiont.
