A good idea may be to put something in RWAV about it, as
that tends to get given out to most of the membership (hint, hint Mr.
Lyth)
I now paste an extract from the magazine put out for the freshers:
On top of all that, we have our library. This consists of a couple of thousand books which IFIS members are welcome to borrow. It has all the famous F/SF authors represented and many more obscure but equally good writer's works. It is a veritable treasure trove for those of us who love reading.

Over the holidays, maybe some of us old-timers can glance over the booklist
and try categorizing books which are similar for them. We will all have our
own opinions. if we can have this up-and-running by next term, brilliant.
As for the magazine, I can certainly put together some book reviews for the
mag. I probably have read more of those books than anyone, so I am happy to
try recommending books. I will probably be down this afternoon, although not
until ~4.30. May I ask that we do not put out the magazine until next term,
when we have done all this. Then we can announce definite times/ loans
system etc cetera. Furthurmore, may I request the editor uses worth-while
contributions rather than just space-fillers. It is after all expensive
producing it!
1. As an old timer myself I am quite willing to assist in this.
2. I am intending to get the mag out in the first couple of weeks of next term. That gives a month or so to get things ready.
3. Please define worthwhile. What is tedious to some is perfection to others. I try to excercise objectivity in assessing the articles received. If it is reasonably written it is accepted. The purpose of the mag is to give those who wish to say something a chance to see their names in print. the one advantage of the relatively small number of contributors is that what I receive tends to be of reasonable quality. Was Jenny implying some criticism of the quality of the previous RWAV?
