Ok, so I may have made that word up.
Pretty good. A fine job of transfering the description and illustrations (by
the author) of the books to the screen. I'd guess that to the uninitiated,
the acting may seem over-the-top and overly actory, but it's entirely in
keeping with the author's originals. To my addled mind it does seem to be
progressing startlingly quickly, but that might be the feature of a poor
memory.
The princess does seem quite pretty though, and I'm not sure she's supposed
to. If anything, the characters aren't quite grotesque enough, hard as that
may be to believe, for those who've not read the books.
Meanwhile - what about this thing on Thursday evenings on Channel 5? "First
Wave".
I've not seen either episode yet, although rumour has it that it's quite
good. I'll watch ep1 tonight on video, but I'm curious to know how many IFIS
folk are watching it. It's in the "Earth, Final Conflict" slot. I'd guess
most of you are down the pub, but those with videos might have an opinion.
And Finally, for those who care, "Farscape", currently hiding at 11:20pm on
BBC2 on Fridays, has turned out to be a perfectly adequate programme, in a
simple, entertaining kind of way.
