Like I said in the overly long header-it could be good news...

Well I have finnaly heard from those ingrates at the union who say that =
the
film companies want us to pay =A375 deposit and then a sum each week =
depending
on what film we are showing and what format. Now this means we won't be =
able
to show films every week but we will every other week.

Which means extended socials on the non film weeks for us non ex =
students.
Also we had the idea of holding a couple of IFIS themed quiz nights =
where
the questions are on films and tv series' and trivia-whats the =
thoughts on
that? You could either enter as a team or try and win prize money by
yourself (mmm yes prizes!) If not you could be a questions or even a =
quiz
master!

A question: Do the IFIS quiz rules survive anywhere ?

All I can remember is the stuff about Star Trekkin and the Red Dwarf theme
music, something about bribes, and the multiple answers to the HAL question....

Colin used to have some really nasty rounds: the Acronyms round (HAL, TARDIS
etc), First Lines of books, TP rounds - I got a question right that Chris got
wrong once hehehe......

I know I don't have the rules, but I think they were always mere
guidelines rather than rules.

There was a rule in there about if you got up to go to the toilet/bar,
you had to sing the Time Warp or lose a point/forfeit your turn or
something. I think this got modified to allow the Red Dwarf theme as an
alternative since some people didn't know the Time Warp.

Bribes were allowed in the form of pints or cigarettes, and when we were
quiz masters, Ascot chocolate fudge cake.
