I'm interested what everyone else thinks of it when they see it.

Well, considering I've seen almost the entire series (aside from about 2
episodes that were shown while I was in the UK in April), I guess I can give
my opinion. I liked it - mind you, I could cope with the interesting
discrepancies between their technology and that of TOS (it's a bit weird but
you can sort of see how they got to TOS then TNG). Of course, there are
still some characters that haven't been explored quite as much as others,
but looking at the early series of TNG (OK, so I'm buying the DVD sets),
that held true there as well.
So there you go - I enjoyed watching it and am eagerly waiting for the
second series.

Well I was doing well up until the title sequence and song. Soooo 1980s
(trust me on this one, children - I was there). Got better again after that
and I'm quite looking forward to the second part tomorrow, by which time I
hope they might have stopped shouting at each other quite so much. I'm
beginning to think the Vulcans have a point...
