Greetings one and all,
I wasn't sure whether or not to put this on Chat or Announce, but plumped
for announce cos it would end up bouncing onto Chat anyway. However,
basically I want to ask all of our members a very simple question:
Which Pub do you want to continue having the weekly Pub Meets at?
Do you want us to continue going to Crosslands, to go back to the Barley Mow
or to move permanantly to the BeeHive after we tested it out last Thursday?
Answers on a postcard to the usual address...
Oh and i'm booking the Tickets for the Harry Potter trip tonight so if you
haven't told me you want to go, tough luck :-)

The car parking is OK - there is generally parking right outside the
pub, or there is a car park for about 12 cars. Better than the Mow,
to tell the truth.
And I didn't hear about the Harry Potter trip until last night, when
I heard them recruiting Gordan as a minibus driver.

that's funny, i haven't asked him yet or told anyone i was planning
to. how odd.
Do you want to go Simon?

Not crosslands - somewhere where real food is available would be good.
Beehive is nice, and we seemed to fit without too much effort last
thursday... which is always a bonus. The food is good, too, if a little
slow at times. I still think the Barley Mow is a decent pub, marred only
by the world's most miserable bar staff, who always give service with a
scowl.
Overall, I'm not fussed between the Mow and the Beehive, but would prefer
either to Crosslands...
Adrian, etc...

nice pub, quite spacious, good food tho a little slow to arrive and
nice fruit wines.
What's the car parking like there ?
possibly better than the Mardy Mow. they at least have their own
car park.

I sent out an email on announce about 3 weeks ago asking whether
anyone who was interested in going to see the Potter film would contact me
about it so I could book tickets. I was going to book the tickets tonight
but if you would like me to hold off until tomorrow night then I suppose I
could do that. so, once more.
IS ANYBODY INTERESTED IN GOING TO SEE HARRY POTTER SOME TIME AROUND
THE 16TH OF NOVEMBER? PLEASE LET ME KNOW BEFORE 5PM TOMORROW.
Ok? :0)
I'll be booking the tickets and minibus(es) tomorrow.

Which Pub do you want to continue having the weekly Pub Meets at?
The Mow. Because it has swings.

I'd say beehive. Friendly. Good cheapish food. Signal on my email gadget.
Closer to the town/station/etc.
Only potential disadvantage - how's the walk from campus <-> beehive? How
does it compare with campus <-> barley mow? Did you go halfway down and
halfway back up the hill, or did you cut across harvest road and right a
bit?

Could you confirm the date? I know I expressed an interest, on behalf of
myself and Estelle, but you probably shouldn't book tickets for us until
we've checked we're free and can find a babysitter (Hmmmm... or PERHAPS take
Kathryn assuming it's U/PG)

That's the thing, i can't let you know the date until I know what
dates are free. sorry bout that.
It is a PG rated film so it might be ok to take her.
