Boldly go to the Science Museum this Autumn!!!!!!!!!
For over 30 years the world of Star Trek has captured the imaginations of
people across the world....due not only to it's outstanding cast of
characters and special (or sometimes not so special!) effects, but also
due to creator Gene Roddenberry's insistence that science and
technology in the show were based on sound scientific principles...
Now these real science stories are explored in a fantastic hands-on
exhibition at the Science Museum which includes a host of computer
interactives, recreated set areas and props from the shows.
Highlights include:
* Navigating the Star Ship Enterprise
* Lighting up the Heat zones of your body
* Beaming yourself to another planet via the transporter room
The exhibition runs until April 2001 and is independently charged. There
will be a whole host of Trekkie events running until then, for details
call 0870 870 4856 or visit www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/startrek!!
Live long and prosper!!
For further details please see the noticeboard
Notified on behalf of Dr Adrian Johnstone
