MF and DW Answers
Went to the MF tonight. First one in at 5.30. Not too busy - but busier
than the Ascot was at that time. The average age was lower too !
Lasagne and Chips - nice but a little expensive.
Very slim pickings on the soft drink front - 's not good. Dave always kept
the bar well stocked for those who didn't want Alcohol.
Claimed our chairs when they were vacated, and was shortly joined by Patric
and Steve. Which is when the troubled started for once unconnected with Mr
Dismukes ! Apparently the manager had allowed a booking for dinner - I
think we may need to try that trick if we stay - and forgot to reserve a
table. By that point we were a little set and there wasn't an awful lot of
other places for us to sit, so we stood our ground and summoned
reinforcements.
Shortly afterwards it was discovered they stopped serving food at 8. We
were unable to find out just where it says that but ...
Music's too loud. Nice to see Nigel on the TV though...
Not sure. Not sure at all......
Answers to the very evil DW Actors quiz below. A real one based on what
happened in the programme - and other sci fi - is in production so if we get
a venue we could stage one early in the new year....
Happy Christmas to all you student types and speak to the rest of you during
the holidays ...

They are all (Brian Cant, Chris Tranchell and Chloe Ashcroft) played by Play
School presenters
Kinda - Jeff Stewart, Simon Rouse and Graham Cole who was also Melkur in
Keeper of Traken and a Cybe in 5 Docs
Bob Mills (10pm-1am Sundays) was the bodyguard in Snakedance
Peter Hawkins and Roy skelton have both provided Puppet Voices for Rainbow.
John Leeson was the original Bungle and Matthew Corbet (of hand up Sooty's
backside) was the original member of Rod, Jane and Freddy before Freddy
Very Easy this one Captain Hawkins (Paul Darrow), Goudry (Michael Keating),
one of the Voices of Xoanan (Peter Tuddenham), Borg (Brian Croucher) and
Chessene (Jacqueline Pierce) were all represented in Blake's Seven as Avon,
Villa, Zen/Orac/Slave, Travis 2 and Servalan.
Andy missed Peter Tuddenham and got the wrong Travis actor. Faye would
never forgive you....
They are all better known in Dr Who for other things .....
Russel - Terry Molloy (Davros 3)
Dugeen - John Leeson (K9)
Guard - John Scott Martin (a Dalek)
Rex Farrel - Micheal Wisher (Davros 1)
Bugger - should have found something else David Gooderson was. The sooner
they put the complete Dr Who cast on a database the better.
Doctors playing other characters. William Hartnell was the Abott of
Ambrose, Patrick Troughton was Salamander, Tom Baker was Meglos and Colin
Baker was Maxill. I also believ that Jon Pertwee is the Radio Announcer in
pt5 of Inferno.
Peter Butterworth, Windsor Davies, Bernard Bresslaw and Jon Pertwee were all
members of the Carry On team. William Hartnell was also in Carry On
Sargent...
Black Orchid shows the Doctor bowling Right Arm Fast. In Four to Domesday
he claims to have taken 5 wickets once for New South Wales bowling Chinamen.
The Chinaman is a delivery bowled slow by a left arm bowler.
No Place Like Home - Tracy (Dee Sadler), Arthur (William Gaunt) and Nigel
Crabtree (Martin Clunes) and Raymond Codd (Danial Hill) in that order
Again Danial Hill (Harvey Bains) and Graham Crowden (Tom Ballard, Soldeed
from Horns of the Nimon) were in Waiting for God
The Radio Times Guide to TV Sitcoms is a wonderful book.Unlike the TV Times
Sci Fi book it has an index by actor which is useful when you forget the
name of the sitcom you've just asked a question about !
The 3 stories feature Tube Stations at some point and the Jam wrote Going
Underground.
Peter Glaze (It's Friday, it's 5 to 5, It's Crackerjack !) was a
Sensorite....
Star Wars.
Jeremy Bulloch (Hal) was Boba Fett
Dave Prowse (The Minotaur) was Darth Vader
The Headmaster (Micheal Sheard) was Admiral Ozzel
Ky (Garrick Hagan) was Biggs Darklighter
Ycarnos (Brian "SORCERY" Blessed) was Boss Nass
Garrick Hagan provides the voice for Captain Carter in Star Fleet
Mark Rolston (John Lee) in Star Fleet is the killer who'd going to be
mindwiped in the B5 ep Quality of Mercy
The Headmaster (Micheal Sheard) was Mr Maurice Bronson, and I'm reliably
informed by the answer to 3 above that
Collete O'Neill (Tanha from Snakedance) was Mrs McClusky. Unfortunately
due to the lack of a copy of Geoff Tibbels Encylopedia to Children's TV in
my collection I'm unable to confirm this.
Gareth Hunt (Gambit in The New Avengers) and David Collings (Silver in
Saphire and Steel) have both appeared with Joanna Lumley in a major role.
