September 26, 1999... We promised a big scoop last week about a sequel the
fans really want to see, and finally here it is: CA has learned that James
Cameron now intends to write, produce and direct Terminator 3. Previous
reports indicated that both Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Cameron had been
playing around with another chapter in the franchise that launched both of
their wildly successful careers, but now we've been given information that
states Cameron's intention to perform the same trio of roles he had on
1991's blockbuster Terminator 2: Judgement Day. CA has also been told that
in addition to Lightstorm's Rae Sanchini, Mario Kassar and Andrew G. Vajna
will also serve as T3 producers. All this comes from our scooper 'Turtle'
who proved it to us by showing documentation of the above facts.
Unfortunately, that's all we know right now. Whether or not Schwarzenegger
will play another T-800 or a different character, the details of the
storyline, and when Cameron is supposed to start writing the script were
unavaliable to Turtle. Oh, there is one other bit of information we do know:
Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor) is not involved with the project at this stage
of its development, nor is Edward Furlong (John Connor) or Robert Patrick
(who played the amorphous T-1000.)
Just last month our 'Skynet Spy' told us Cameron had a falling out with the
producers, but now with today's report from 'Turtle' we're assuming things
changed. How work on T3 will effect development on True Lies 2, which also
seems to be slowly solidifying, or Schwarzenegger's future avaliability
remain to be seen. We're guessing that if Cameron puts pen to paper in the
near future, Fox will want to get this p
