Did everyone have a good eclipse? It was a good view from Sussex. Ok, so =
we didn't get totality, but we didn't get cloud either.
Yup. Went to a service station just south of Amiens, France, right on
the line of totality. It was cloudy right up until about 2 minutes
before totality - people were leaping back in their cars and speeding
off to chase a gap in the clouds - but it went clear just in time...
and fantastic it was too. I can't help but be amazed that, due to a
few miracles of modern technology and a bit of luck with the weather,
we can be in the right place at the right time and the sun will be
swallowed by the moon for our pleasure. Brilliant! :-)
360 degree sunset, deep blue sky above, not many stars visible, and in
fact I didn't even see mercury, which was supposed to be very obvious,
but did see venus, for what THAT's worth.
