Xmas Dinner (scream of pain)

Dear everyone,
Jacquie has suggested a restaurant called "Vermont
Exchange" for the Xmas dinner. From what she says, it looks pretty good.
However we need to book soon. Please can you suggest a good date for the
dinner. It has to be in December before the end of term. Here follows
the highlights of Jacquies E-mail.
Just to give you a little bit of extra info. a two-course meal
is approx. 12.95, while a three-course meal is 14.95. The menu
includes a variety of dishes off their usual menu including a couple of
steaks (which always seemed to be a popular choice at the first Xmas
dinner I organized).
Jacquie will bring the menu for people to have a look at on Thursday
(Hopefully)
Let me know what you think,
Luke

Why don't we try one of the restaurants in Egham/Englefield green
(seeing as that's
about the one thing the town has actually got lots of). Then no one
would have to drive,
we wouldn't need to hire a minibus and more people based on campus (i.e.
freshers)
would be far more likely to come along.
I would recommend Don Beni's (the Italian in Engy Green).
Egham has good Thai, Indian etc. Also Bar163 is Ok, if expensive.
If you want to go a bit further afield then Staines has a good steak
restaurant
and also the Tex-Mex by station is very good (and does steaks).
All my opinion, of course.
Paul.

The name rings a bell, but WHERE IS IT?

Seeing as how there have been a couple of queries regarding locations
etc, let me
a) clear up location of the Vermont Exchange - it is in Cobham,
Surrey, just over the A3, near junction 10 of the M25. Please note
that it is not in Chobham (which is on the way to
Woking!)
b) personal opinion but most of the restaurants in Egham/Englefield
Green might have a problem seating a large number of noisy people!
See ya later,
Jacquie

I know it sounds like it is a distance away, but it only takes about 30
mins to get there and even less if you use M25 (and assuming that a
miracle occurs and there aren't any traffic jams on it!)

May I suggest that somewhere localish might be preferable, There must
be somewhere in the vicinity that everyone likes. That also avoids
the hassel of arranging transort for Everyone.
As to type of establisment- I'll be happy with most places.

Christopher

Let me know what you think,
I would like to suggest an alternative possibility.
There is a restaurant in Egham called Jaspers which I am sure several
people already know.
I will try to bring a menu along on Thursday also so people could
compare.
