The College will not allow any rooms to be used for/by societies untill the
exam period is over (i.e. untill AT LEAST Friday 28th)......

..... the only possible way around this would be for a private (non-society)
room booking..... however this would require a 30/50 deposit (this is
normally taken care of by a union arangement with college for official SU
societies...

I have no info about the procedure for EXTERNAL orgs/groups.

The info I posted was my understanding for STUDENTS of the college (or
groups of students, students private events with guests) for UN-OFFICIAL
functions...

No, the college would not have let us have a room, as I spent about
15 minutes arguing with the Sales and Marketing people (who sort out room
bookings) about getting rooms last week. They said that nobody could, in
this term book ANY rooms due to exams. I said I was disorganised because I
hadn't managed to sort out a video to watch in another location (eg Alex The
Librarian's room), and part of this diorganisation was due to the fact that
we have exams at the moment! Alex doesn't want the films to disrupt her
studying, and when the exams are over we might be able to get back to some
degree of normality!
If any members wish to propose their own film showings this term,
please post it on chat or announce (e.g. Adrian's Peter Jackson night on
Friday).

Regarding said Peter Jackson night, can people interested in coming along
give me a shout either via E-mail or phone me on (01784) 434963... I
probably won't be in until about 6pm, but the answerphone can handle
messages of up to 30 seconds. If for some reason it doesn't (ie. it's full)
then phone (01784) 431341 and ask for extension 268. You'll probably get
another answerphone, but that one can handle more messages. I just can't
hear them afterwards...

I already know that Charlotte (+1 other) and Giles are coming over, but
anyone else, let me know (appologies for disorganization, I'd forgotten I
was teaching today and was going to plan more, instead I just have to tell
130 students they've missed off a semicolon.)
