library
Luke tells us:
That's brilliant news.
Is the time limited by the Union?
If it was possible to have access to the books on other days, that would be
even better. An hour on Sunday is quite limited.
Is the problem is with having time to deal with the library running?
I gather from Luke no librarian was voted for this year. Now we have the
library available, then perhaps it is time a librarian is appointed. It is a
bit much to expect Luke as Chairman to have to keep the library running on
his own. As this is not one of the posts needed by the union, this post can
be given to a non-student if need be. Even without a librarian (or two),
there are other commitee memebers. Who are they and what are their posts?
Is it possible to get more keys cut, so that more than one person can
organise getting the books in and out?
As for a lending sustem, may I suggest that a nice solid lending book be
used, in which all loans can be recorded. If Nick sorts out some loans
system, computers can be used to assist this. However, scraps of paper used
to record loans etc cetera get lost. A book can be kept in with the rest!
I am happy to volunteer to help with cataloguing the rest of the books, and
I can bring down the rest of the books at the same time. Is it possible for
someone in charge to organize us to do this before the 9th ( perhaps either
Saturday 1st or Sunday 2nd). Obviously, it cannot be Luke, as he is tied up.
