b5 : battles

which episodes contain the best battles in b5? i am looking for episodes
in which the whitestar/starfurry is shown the most in action.

Though it may be a crap episode overall, there's the one where the
Drahk first appeared. That has a good battle in the last 10 minutes or so.
And of course if you are wanting Whitestars, the one where Ivanova gets hit
in the head by half a spaceship at the end of a battle, "I am death, etc "
speech preceding this.
Star furies are much in evidence in Point of no return, (I think)
where B5 defends its new independence from Earth.
Delenn- "only one earth commander has ever defeated the Minbari in battle.
He is behind me" A cool episode, and probably Delenn's finest moment.

Severed Dreams!

Whitestars appear in Season 3, so that's a good place to start. They only
appear in any number in the later episodes, such as 'Shadow dancing'. Even
then they are only supporting a much larger fleet. For single Whitestars
kicking arse, try season 3's 'Matters of honour' or 'Messages form Earth'.
For groups of Whitestars, try season 4's 'Lines of communication' - the
previously mentioned Drakh battle (rather poor really), or 'Between the
darkness and the light' - Ivanova leads a Whitestar taskforce against the
Earthforce Advanced Destroyers. This is a very good episode.

Starfuries and Thunderbolts are smaller and therefore not well suited for
taking out capital ships. A few season 1 episodes feature starfury battles,
but they were still refining the CG, so these are probably best avoided.
Season 2's 'The fall of night' has the station's full compliment of
starfuries defending against a Centauri Battlecruiser. The best episode by
far for this though, has to be season 3's 'Severed dreams'. The station and
two rebel Destroyers fight off an assault by Earthforce loyal Destroyers.
Fun, fun, fun. With the added bonus of a Whitestar at the end.

The S1 ep everyone is trying not to name is "Signs and Portents" and also
introduces Mr Morden.
Can I be the first man to mention "All alone in the night" ? There's some
cool stuff with Star Furies in that, you get to see the eject sequence for
the first time when the Streibs show up and of course the dream sequence.
"Fall of night" - I'll have toasted Kefler to go ?
"Matters of Honour" introduces the Whitestar and has it in single combat
with a shadow vessel.
Ditto "Messages from Earth"
"Severed Dreams" & "Shadow Dancing" have already been mentioned. SD is the
first time the Thunderbolts appear.
Most worlds technology is visible during "Into the fire"
Then you have major battle sequences in "No Surrender, No Retreat", "Between
the Darkness and the Night" and "Endgame"
also want to check out "In the Beginning" and "Thirdspace" for Earthforce
ships dying hideously....

Eagle eyed viewers may be able to spot the (as far as I know) only
appearance of the Starfury with rear mounted gunner's cockpit in Pt2 of
"Voice in the Wilderness" in S1. It's the fury that launches from the
Hyperion to carry it's commander to B5.
