Hi. If you're reading this during the holidays (i.e. when I send it) I hope
you're having a damn site more fun than I am. If you're reading this at the
start of the new term then half the stuff in this mail will be old news, half will
be out of date and half probably won't apply any more. And if you're
reading this in 1996 thanks to those freak time winds in 2159, tonights
lottery numbers were 3 6 12 19 44 45 (the bonus was 20)
Anyhew....
I'm having a frightfully dull holiday so I thought that I'd send something to
the jolly old IFIS mailing list to cheer (and wind) people up.
To start with Blake's 7 is BACK, and this time it's not going to be that
dreadfull book published just after the series ended. No, the BBC are
making a 90 minute special to be broadcast (on radio to avoid explaining
why all the characters are now bald and overwieght) sometime in October.
I know a lot of you probably know that already but I don't care. (Starting to
guess just how bored I am yet?)
Secondly, let's have a vote. Which makes you laugh more, BUGS or
Space Cadets (and the laughs can be intentional or unintentional).
Actually (and this is where I put my life SERIOUSLY in danger) I prefer
BUGS to most of the US shows that are imported at the moment..... pulse
rate calmed down yet? Yes, I'd rather watch BUGS than Millenium, X-Files
or (dare I say it?) B5!
Thirdly, I'd like to put in a completely voluntary plug for a fan based Dr
Who audio drama. It's called Present Infinite and it's not licensed by the
BBC in any way. The acting's of the Thunderbirds variety and the plots
dodgy to say the least but it's heart(s) in the right place. Just send three
pounds to

I think it's pretty good and I've sent off for the other two tapes that have
been made (let you know what they're like when I get them)
Finally, people really should keep reading the Benny New Adventures as
well as the BBC books. With all kinds of runours flying around about the
future of our favourit time-traveller in a police box, the more people that
buy the BBC's books the better. (Hang on, with the BBCs logic, the less
people that buy the books the mroe likely they are to make it. Hell, just
buy the books any way.)
That's just about it for the time being (what or whoever that is) and I'll post
again when I get bored again.
Regards
