UB UK Trade Terms Project

Database Analyst

A short term opportunity has arisen within the Project Team for someone to
assist in the trading data analysis task. This involves working with KP &
McVitie's trade pricing data within a Microsoft Access database at the
Twickenham office under the direction of the Trade Pricing project team.

Job content:
*Conduct multi-variable, iterative analyses on commercial data producing
reports in tabular and graphical formats
*Maintain and develop database tables under direction to standards set
*Contribute to the development of the analysis tool using knowledge
gained from doing the work

Skills, knowledge and abilities required:
Essential
*MS Access or closely similar PC database tool
*High level of numeracy
*Able to stay focused on a task to see it through to completion
*Able to work effectively in an area that presents many challenges and
participate in the problem solving task

Desirable:
*Knowledge of database systems and data management principles
*Statistics background from A-level Maths or degree content
*Grasp of business/commercial principles

For the right person it this is a particular opportunity to gain experience
of the application of data analysis to real business problem-solving in a
group with a strong team spirit who work quickly and use a wide network of
contacts within the UK business. We will support and develop the skills of
the right person within the time available.

Timing: from end July for 6 weeks.
