I know this may come as a shock, but I don't actually like Sliders. Or most
of DS9 for that matter. I don't mind the films being delayed til 7 for DS9
devotees to turn up, but how many people actually watch Sliders? Go on, own
up. I would be willing to bet it's no more than three of you.
It may also come as a shock, but we are a society. This means socialising.
We do this in the pub. We do not do this by sitting in a darkened room
watching films. The pub is as far as I am concerned the most important
aspect of what we do. It allows like-minded people to meet and discuss their
favourite SF series/films/books/whatever. This cannot happen if the pub
becomes a thirty minute stop-off after the film, for those who can be
bothered.
As SF fans, you should know how hard it is to meet people who are as
fanatical about it as you. Why are you willing to waste this opportunity?
That's it, rant over (for the moment).
