Hi All,
the film this thursday is Scream 2.

Main Lecture Theatre
6:45pm (oh alright, you DS9 people can get there at 7)
thursday 19th December

And what about sliders people , are you true sci-fiers, surely thats more
important than 30 mins at the pub?????stop catering to people who just come
to see normal films and start paying attention to the reason for this
club---scifi nerds!!!

Can you maybe get a TV aerial, and show these things before the films?
Then the films could start at 7:30 on the dot.
Of course, that's not the most legal of solutions....

Not that I care, since I'm invariably busy on Thursdays anyway.
I'll turn up for Richard's film-fest on Saturday though.
Will there be a microwave for my popcorn?

Still, it should give people something to do whilst we wait for the film..
30 mins.... That's two pints... quite a sacrifice you're asking for :)

As a side note, didn't sliders nearly get canned after it's first series? It
has got better tho, especially with the cromags, and the *evil* slider.

Next weeks film is event horizon, and yes it will probably start at 7.45 to
keep you all happy.

Ahhh, much as I'd like to, being drunk on duty does not look good for a
chairman :)

I'll check and see if my aerial works on that telly in MLT, and I'll get

I got thrown out of the common room in Athlone for trying to watch ST:TNG
there in my 3rd day at RHBNC. They wanted to watch "Home & Away", so I went
and watched it with our Sean. The thought of actually being able to watch
sci fi tv in a public place ....
You'll be there at 6 next so people can do DS9, then Sliders, then the film
!
Although it's some expense I seriously recommend getting a video recorder.
I forked out in term 1 and never looked back.... Matsui (as recomended by
Phil, Sean and Tricky) do a fine range of such items starting at 99.99 for a
very decent bog standard one.

Besides for some people Thursday night is very much Pub night still (see
Tradition) ....
Asan - I'm gald I'm not your Liver if that's how much you put away in such a
short space of time :-)

Sliders had nearly got canned after every series and keeps coming back like
a bad penny.... It's switched channels at least once stateside - SciFi
bought it after one of the networks gave it the heave ho....
However at the rate it's shedding cast members at the moment, and with
rumours of quite large behind the scenes unrest it can't be that long for
this world ......

I've never really partaken but some speak very highly of it...

Where are they up to in the UK ?

Or we'll be forced to start at 8, so all those cockney lovers can get their
eastenders in as well....
I need a video badly right now, I'm missing out on all the DS9 episodes :(((
Well, film nights may change next year. Would people mind watching films and
episodes on fridays instead? And before people wonder, here's why we can't
do other nights of the week:

Sunday : everyone coming back to college from home, stinking hangovers and
all, and doing that last minute coursework
Monday : everyone frantically trying to get back into the swing of *WORKING*

Tuesday : Banned, because the union holds their General Meetings on tuesdays

Wednesday : College Sports Night

Thursday : IFIS pub night

Friday : Possible, but some go home on Fridays

Saturday : Everyone goes out shopping or out clubbing somewhere, or
generally more social.

Well, anybody fancy a friday instead of thursdays?
It's ok, but It suffers from the Voyager syndrome. 1 Great episode followed
by 4 crap ones. Needs to be a bit more consistent, although having regular
baddies like the Cromags has helped a lot.

rumour about Kate Mulgrew wanting out of ST:V

Regarding slisers , if you read recent reviews it has new producers or
something and is now filling all that potential , or shortly will in the 3rd
season...anyay with jerry o'connell who's going to argue quality!!!!

Both Jerry Connel and his brother Charlie are following John Rhys-Davies
lead and have left the series.

Hey - I put spoiler alerts on it

Ah well , at least its a long way off, anyway, charlie is gross, and
by the way wade has left too, jerry is going on to better things, i.e films,
for example tonights great film!!!

Ahhh unfortunately not. We're banned by the union from cooking food on-site,
so no hot dogs, microwaves or popcorn :(

Of course, there's nothing stopping you from ordering pizza, just don't make
a mess :)
