IFIS Theoric?

Hi,
I was just wondering if the
IFIS theoric had been fully spent yet. It's getting
close to the end the year and I think it needs to be spent a bit before then as
the Union like some time to consolidate their purchase ledger. Usually a bunch
of enthusiastic types goes into London or Morden and spends a wodge of cash on
new books for the
library. Is this happening this year and if so when? Obviously
not spending it is "a bad thing" as apart from turning away effectively free kit
we get less funding next year.

A good idea and they don't really even have to go that far - that new
bookshop (something like Otters but with far too many odd letters) in
Staines has a very good range of SciFi/Fantasy books - certainly a lot
better than WHSmiths.

Might be worth at least getting an idea of prices there, if only to
make sure that we're not buying from jenny JUST because she's an
ifis
member, but also because it's a good deal. I'm not saying it ISN'T a
good deal, just saying it might be worth checking. :-)

The prices are equivalent of Smiths. Some promotional discounts on the newer
books, like L4 off The Last Continent, but otherwise normal prices.

The real disadvantage is that you can't browse. Somewhere like "At the Sign of
the Dragon" is ideal as they have a large stock, with shelves of older (i.e.
harder to find) and second hand stuff. They're also very well priced.
