If there are any fans of the Star Trek: Next Generation books out there,
they could perhaps answer this little query of mine concerning Q and
Guinan...
It's quite apparent from their meeting in "Q Who" (the one where Q
flings the Enterprise into Borg space) that Q and Guinan are not on
friendly terms. She hates him, and he thinks she's trouble (sounds like
a classic case of transferance to me). How much she hates him becomes
apparent when he is made human, and she stabs him in the hand with a
fork and watches him getting zapped by the cloud creatures with great
satisfaction.
Okay, now what I want to know is: was their original meeting ever
detailed in any of the ST:TNG novels? If so, what happened? Did Q lead
the Borg to her home world? Did he turn her cat into a gigantic monster
which tore her family apart? Did she have to listen to him ranting on
about how inferior everyone else is (which she couldn't help because she
comes from a race of listeners)?
Responday-voo toot sweet, silver plate! (Oh Gawd, I'm Terry
Pratchett...)
