First a quick thingy on the SF content of this.
Most Disney or Shakespeare can be fitted broadly into fantasy, think how many ghosts, witches fairies etc show up in most of the stuff written by either.
Just because what is being said is that Disney is crap does not prevent Disney and Shakespeare from being purveyors of fantasy and therefore eligible topics.
(cutesy french accent) That's what I think anyway.
Adam compared what Disney does with Shakespeare.
Right.
Memorable quotes from each which have become part of the language.
I'll start with Bill.
'Star crossed lovers'
'the seeds of time'
Life is but a walking shadow, a poor player.
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more; it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.
Misery acquaints a man with strange bedfellows.
What's in a name, that which we call a rose,
By any other name would smell as sweet.
Thereby hangs a tale.
'the green eyed monster'
Lord what fools these mortals be
Double double toil and trouble,
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
'murder most foul'
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark
I could go on for pages here. The quotes book I have in front of me has more than 1000 entries on Shakespeare.
Disney quotes.
I can't think of any and the book don't provide me with any.
You could use the names of the 7 Dwarfs
My point here is that Shakespeare provided some of the greatest imagery of any writer.
You cannot say that Disney provides anything close to art in the same or any way.

In relativity, matter tells space how to curve, and space tells matter
how to move. The Heart of Gold told space to get knotted...
