what's wrong with Disney?

I agree with with Chris...

Hercules was a self-center bully in the original story - he didn't much
care for the small people. But that was the whole idea of the story.

I am waiting for Disney to ruin some other stories, how about:
Hamlet - the musical comedy or Macbeth... or Titanic...
Don't forget the Iliad - but we all know that's going to be turned into a
comic (aka Red Drawf).


The most depressing thing about these stories, is that they had a real point
once; which Disney replaces with shallow meaningless twaddle.

I'll do it for you quickly - it's *NOT* science fiction. In the last 24
hours, IFIS has run to something like 30 messages, which seem to be divided
up approximately as follows:

General slagging off/people who think they're funny50%
(of which Complaints about RHBNC computer system30%)
Non-SF discussion(films, books)30%
Stuff about the AGM15%
Genuine SF contentnot a lot


I will resist the temptation to break it down by author. I will note that
there isn't very many of you. But Nick, is it time to start talking about
the concept "offtopic"? Please?

Good of you, chief (as the numbers are probably even now increasing
exponentially).

You should have seen the E-mail I sent at around (let me check) twenty
to six today (good grief, have I been working that long?!). I sent it
from Bedford Library and haven't gotten it back from IFIS; nor has
anyone else, judging from the fact that no-one (including Simon) has
flamed me yet. (If this one arrives before than one, I am going to kill
someone! And no, not myself... :-<)

Whoops, sorry - off-topic! Well, could there perhaps be an SF-related
theory as to why the computer centre staff are so utterly incompetent?
(With feasability scores?)

the AGM is relevant to the list. It was after all the IFIS AGM and this
is the IFIS mailing list.

The reason the thread has gone so far off topic is because enough
people want to discuss it. The participation rate for that thread was
actually higher than for most recently.

What I'm more concerned about is how a discussion on what NASA should
do about water on the Moon turned into a bile flinging session aimed at
Disney...
