library
I turned up at 3.50, to discover no-one running the library. I thought that
was a bit soon to close, when the official opening hours are 3.30-5.00 (I
believe). In fact, I was early, as Jonathan was trying (unsuccesfully) to
get a key off the Union guy. I seem to recall several keys being cut, by
both Luke and Kevin.
I thought I mainly had a key so I could get access at the weekend for us
ex-students. As I cannot get access at the weekend these days, I still get
down there for a *bit* many weeks. *I* don't feel able to promise to open the
library every week, as I am trying to run a business. It is not fair on
*anyone* to expect to open the library every week. You need to sort out a
rota and ensure all the people on it have keys. May I suggest that once you
have a commitee voted in, you discuss a procedure for this rota.
We had someone who wanted to join today, who was some guy standing for a
Union post. If you can get him involved, IFIS may gain several spots in
Union conmtacts (unfortunately, he was not able to come this evening). There
are many people who read SF who are not IFIS members. If you are to get them
involved, you *must* run reliable opening hours.
