How about an evening of cartoons?
Looney Tunes, Tex Avery, Duckula, Victor & Hugo, Simpsons, Tazmania, Animaniacs, etc. I do have all of these available.
If anyone is worried about SF themes being necessary, it is easy to find relevant themed ones. eg Hareway to the Stars, Duck Dodgers in the 24 and a 1/2th Century etc.

Or, of course, Deep Space Homer, which rips off every other sci-fi film
or TV show in existence in some way (except Dr.Who, as usual...), and
therefore would be cheaper and more entertaining than hiring said films!
Even the Itchy & Scratchy cartoon rips off 2001 and Aliens in about
thirty seconds!

Or, how about Transformers? I still have my old videos of the series...
no, maybe not - just jumping on the bandwagon...
