Cult TV showings
Last time I suggested this, it sank without a trace, but...
Woould people be interested in showing cult TV shows at the weekend?
There is indeed a lot of some of them, and some of them are very popular. I
must confess (humble pie and all that) to thinking the episodes of ST which
I saw at Pages bar last Saturday as pretty good. I suppose that means I
would watch some more if it was shown. Once the X files stops, my regular
dose of TV will go down...
I personally think B5 is well cool, but it needs a lot of time in watching
it from the start, being well-developed. Watching the odd episode would miss
a lot of the impact. So that would require a large commitment for neewbies,
and lots of room bookings etc if you were to show more than just the odd
class episode.
The odd episode from things like Blakes 7, The Prisoner, Dr Who, et al could
go down well *maybe* if enough people wanted it.
Certainly, I have thought the idea of such showings run concurrently with
the Network gaming as appealing, as I generally find those boring, know they
already sucks in all my friends, and maybe would draw in more people whilst
we have convinced the bookings office to give us somewhere.
We have a v small monitor +video player, which could be used for this sort
of thing, as the special effects on some of the older stuff is pretty
non-existant. How many times *can* you re-use a quarry?
Anyone else interested?
