Previously, James Hadwen wrote...
We could probably stomach the first 2 TV movies, and possibly the
three-part "V - The Final Battle", in one night; but "V - The
Series"
runs to about 18 episodes!!
Plus parts of it are just too sickly sweet to watch.... that
ending....
In the book (sorry to spoil it!), the half-breed girl was just
super-intelligent, and figured out how to unlock the self-destruct
mechanism, rather than holding the keys and glowing...
Most Dr Who Dalek episodes
Again, I have most of these, except "Revelation of the Daleks" (the
Colin Baker one).
Alexi Sayle chatting up Peri and the first sign of flying daleks, it's
a
good un!
Yes, pity I didn't have a VCR when the Beeb showed it and that they're
never, ever, *ever* going to release it on video (they'd sooner release
Ghostwatch!).
I still say let's watch Remembrance of the Daleks (the Sly McCoy one) so
I can prove to Chris "I'm an expert on something I saw once, ten years
ago, probably in a drunken state" Lyth that the Doc talks the Black
Dalek to death at the end, not the Special Weapons Dalek (about whom I'm
doing a comic strip - quick plug!)!! I mean, honestly! Luke knows
that, and he refuses to acknowledge knowing anything about anything
ever! (Okay, *slight* exaggeration...)
B5 pilot & seasons 1 to 3
Over how many evenings?
I shall refrain from comment
Quite right - we shouldn't mock B5 fans, we should treat them with
respect and dignity (the same as other handicapped people).
Starfleet (cool)
Ohh yes! I remember that from childhood - just please can we not
sit
through the theme song too many times (it's embarrassing)...
What's Starfleet? And does anyone else remember Captain Zep from their
childhood?
My mother (who used to watch it with me - that's how long ago I saw it!)
described it thus: "a really bad puppet show, but with a really good
soundtrack"! Basically, it's like a cross between Gerry Anderson and
the average (kids') anime film, complete with three little spaceships
which combine to form one big samuri robot!
Yes, I remember Captain Zep! They had three actors walking around
cartoon backgrounds like Paddington walking around with the Browns (ie.
everything and everyone else were 2-dimensional, and not even
animated!)! The theme song is even more embarrassing than Starfleet's.
Oh, and it had a bunch of "cadets" watching the film and answering
questions, and none of them ever got any wrong, so they were obviously
reading lines! Still a cool show, though (although my memory's not that
good!).
