praise for Luke

I would like to state that I too think Luke has done an outstanding job. Not
just with the library, but also video evenings, the Freshers Fair, the
Christmas meal, the magazine. He has done more for the society than *any*
other IFIS chairman I can remember, and that covers 1983/4 + the last ~7
years. His Dad's shelves are languishing in our front room not because of
Luke, but because of the Union.
I feel pity for the next couple of chairmen, as they have a tough act to
follow. Luke has worked hard, and been exceedingly conscientious. The *only*
thing I feel Luke has been let down on was an *initial* lack of delegation
skills. I have therefore done all I can to try and help Luke, by support
myself, and by encouraging others to help.
My comments about starting another society *outside of* college were
intended in no way as a reflection on Luke (or indeed IFIS in general). I
would like to meet *other* non-student locals who share my interests in SF,
and also find a way for us ex-students to do our own thing and share our own
resourses, whilst still being helpful to IFIS.
