Library, Page's trip, the revolution and anything else people have been bitching about
Dear all,
*Firstly, I've had a chat with Shunty and he has fixed it with us
to get into the union at Sunday from 12-3pm. to organize the library. I
can be there if we can't get enough help but I was planning to go home
this weekend so I would like to avoid it if necessary. Please don't moan
at Shunty as he has been really helpful this year and Sunday was my
fault because I assumed we could just blag our way in like last time and
didn't ask permission. OOPS!
*As to library access on weekends. If they are prepared to let us
in if we give them notice I don't see why we couldn't have a sunday a
month where we open the library to non students for the afternoon. I
remain to be convinced that there is demand to justify this though.
*As to the poor state of the cupboard we have, it's the best we
are going to get put up with it. My dad has spent a lot of time and
effort putting draws together to make it easier to sort through, so I
would appreciate it if everyone stopped going on about it and just
accepted it.
*The trip to Page's bar. I will be at Waterloo at 4.30 on
saturday near the tube entrance. It's rather a case of the blind leading
the blind as I will be following Nick's directions as well, but see you
there.
*I think that this deviding up tand creating a new Egham SF soc
is a really bad idea. IFIS is mostly the ascot, which would go on
without the Union but I think that it would cause a lot of problems.
Anyway, I can't see the Union letting us sell the books or keep them at
an ex students place. It's about insurance
*All the student members appreciate everything that the ex
students have done for us. Chris Lyth alone has saved us a fortune on
posters already this year and without the mailing lists that Cimio etc
have set up, not a lot would happen in the society. PLEASE never think
that we are not grateful.
Boy, am I going to be flamed for this,
Luke
