Transformers - The Movie

Gordon Bobic wants to see Transformers - The Movie on a Thursday night
screening. Does anyone else, because as I said I still have my copy of
it (from several decades ago... seems like it, anyway...). I certainly
wouldn't mind watching it again (I've been trying to think up an excuse
of late).

And to Luke: I would make no promises about the quality of the tape - I
only ever watched it on the VCR my family used to have, which was even
worse than my present VCR (which he claims chews up tapes - ah, I bet
Chris L. is sorry he lent me his classic Ren & Stimpy video now!).

Finally, how about "Hunger" by Spectre General (another song from the
film)? That has nothing whatsoever to do with large mutating robots.
What would be good, though, is the music that gets played whenever
Unicron (the gigantic planet that transforms into the Devil) is around.
Try dancing to that!

Murph has a copy which is of resonable quality. I should imagine
you'd be able to persuade him to lend it to you.

It is however, a really crap film.

I withdraw my apology. Compared to what? It's a kids' film. They
can't have swearing, sex or disembowellings in it! (Which was someone's
totally pointless complaint about ID4... sorry! Leave it!!) It wasn't
quite as good as the original TV cartoon, though (which had the funky
theme song... "Transformers! Robots in Disguise..." <SLAP!>)

Or shake them around, or kick them, or leave them in the VCR during a
power cut (possibly)... where's your VCR, Mr.Cheap Skate?

Don't answer that... at least, if a tape is "knackered", my VCR only
makes the picture jump or the sound go funny (for the first part of the
tape) - the video in Bedford makes it go faster, then slower, then
reasonable speed, then funny again if you fast-forward it... I thought
one of my tapes was knackered because of this, and so did a friend!

Previously, Luke ranted (well, for him it's a calm response!):
Cobblers! That was just when I hadn't cleaned it out for months. It
works okay now. But how many times have you opened up a video to see if
it's chewed up or not, hmm?

Besides, leaving videos lying flat may well let the edge of the tape get
creased up under gravity (especially if you leave it in a VCR). Better
to stack them vertically, methinks.

But hey, aren't we straying from the subject a little here, people...?
