And the Apocalypse continues!
To all nuclear-powered survivors,
This week we will be facing that most popular of end-of-days scenarios, the Zombie Apocalypse.
After the rather sombre tones of last year's "Dead Set", we've decided to lighten the tone and watch that awesome movie that is "Shaun of the Dead".
There will be relationship troubles, good old-fashioned pubs and of course the problem of how to focus on your life when the zombie apocalypse starts. I am reliably informed it's also rather amusing, which is all to the good!

In ADDITION, the SU is organising a special photo for each society to celebrate Mental Health Awareness week. All it involves is (according the photographer) is as follows:
I'm doing a campaign for Mental Health Awareness Week where I take a photo of a society, and ask everyone to write anonymously on a piece of paper "yes" or "no" to this question:
"Have you ever had a mental health issue, either diagnosed or otherwise?"
We're talking about depression, anxiety, eating disorders etc. We'll then use the image and the statistic to create a poster for the campaign next week. It will take less than 5 minutes of your time.
This will be occurring Tuesday before the main movie. No one has to participate in the photo unless they want to obviously but can we please try to have a few more people than we did at the society photoshoot?

Also this week, after our usual pub night (Alma Mata, 7pm onwards PLEASE do come, it would be lovely to see more of you there), will be our special event of "I survived the Mayan Apocalypse/ Our Beloved Treasurer Joseph's 21st" this Friday the 25th.
The location is somewhere on Cherrywood Drive in Englefield Green. It will be an evening of saying "ha-ha" to anyone who believed the world was going to end last December and a perfect excuse for a party.
I quote from the event description on Facebook :
Welcome to the second official IFIS Party, celebrating a new term, a new dawn, a new day, and a new year for all... especially IFIS Treasurer Joseph Mayger as he turns 21.
Come along for mayhem and fun as we celebrate the disproving of Eurocentric misinterpretations of the Mayan calendar, and Joseph's birthday. Bring your own booze, dress up, and have fun.
Hope to see many of you at all our upcoming events,
Clementine - Chief Zombie Slayer of IFIS
