I heard episode 2 (of 3) of a programme on Tuesday, on Radio 4 Extra (used to be Radio 7). Looks like it was running Monday-Wednesday.

What's it about?
"An invasion by aliens interrupts an idyllic wedding anniversary celebration. The first of a sci-fi trilogy with Donald Hewlett."
Doesn't sound like much. Though, the author wrote a Doctor Who novel, and a few other things. Also, this is one of the many "BBC wiped the master tapes and someone had a copy in the attic" things - in this case, he had his own copy - hence the sudden broadcast.
Also, featuring Patrick Troughton as the Prime Minister.
Only 1/2 hour an episode. Give it a try!

The book Wally K Daly wrote was an adaptation of a script he'd written
for the original (cancelled) 23rd season of DW.
