Other SF groups...
So, as the students all disappear for a while, I thought I'd post up a
couple of links for places you can go to get an extra fix of "SF social" in
the lull before they come back:
First is "LOTNA" - the League Of The Non-Aligned - an SF group that meet
twice a month near Blackfriars Bridge (about 15 mins walk from Waterloo)
http://www.lotna.org.uk/
The second is the London Sci-Fi Pub Meet - which is smaller but still quite
active. They meet in a Weatherspoons pub near to Holborn.

LOTNA, in particular, seem to be very active as a group and have a lot in
common with IFIS, whilst the other is a pub meet - which is active in the
sense that folks turn up to a pub and mingle, but doesn't organise a great
deal beyond that.
There's also the London Circle over at Chancery Lane, but I must confess
I've only been to one of their meets and didn't entirely feel at home -
partly because I felt far too young! I have heard that was a particularly
silver-haired week, and that it tends to pick up later on... but it's a
weeknight in London, so staying late doesn't hugely appeal. If you're in
London anyway, it's probably worth a shot, though, but go along later in
the evening.

Of course, pub Thursdays at the Alma Mata still happen, too.
